Employee and Client Recognition: How Gifting Can Build Better Relationships

This year has been a year of adjustment and flexibility, which was the key to keeping many businesses open. The option to work-from-home was one of those alternatives that became the only option. By now everyone that was forced to adjust has adapted to the new work style. But that doesn't mean that it wasn't a struggle. And that’s something that as a brand, you must appreciate and recognize in employees.

“To be able to work at home successfully takes all of the following: motivation, perseverance, good work habits, no excuses, balance, accountability and action” - Byron Pulsifer. There are a lot of good habits that contribute to an efficient employee working remotely and these are skills that need to be highlighted and celebrated. The question is - how do you make sure that your employees feel appreciated? The answer is to provide them with gifts that invoke the feelings of recognition, celebration and reward.

Recognition is important because it highlights the efforts employees put into the business as well as their ability to adapt in an extreme situation like the pandemic. A feeling of celebration is to let the employee enjoy their efforts and celebrate everything they have done. And lastly the reward is to give them something tangible that they can have as a memento or something that they can find value in.

This goes to say that it is important to appreciate your employees, but just as importantly your clients. They have continued to do business with you and provided a stable healthy relationship during a time where both the health and economy of the world is extremely unstable. Providing gifts that invoke these feelings can also strengthen a client relationship because they also deserve to be recognized, celebrated and rewarded.
